In 2011, Leadership Huntsville's Impact Class 3 tackled the controversial issue of how we could build a lasting framework to better empower and mobilize leadears in the areas of race relations and diversity among our community's private and public sectors.  Impact graduates discovered that being an inclusive community is easier said than done, and takes a long-term commitment and willingness to face conflict head-on.

The results of Impact's efforts was the formation of a new entitity, Vanguard Huntsville/Madison County.  And while there were serveral current organizations focused on promoting equity, diversity, and tolerance, current efforts had been somewhat challenged in their ability to engage the business sector.  This is what makes Vanguard Different.
